About

Support Indigenous Knowledge & Student Scholarships on this PSU Day of Giving

Today is PSU’s Day of Giving and a great opportunity to help support student opportunities in Indigenous Traditional Ecological and Cultural Knowledge (ITECK).

Our ITECK Certificate offers students the opportunity to engage in hands-on field work and research with us and our extensive circle of partners, including U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Metro regional government, Portland Parks, Portland's Bureau of Environmental Services, Portland All Nations Canoe Family, Native American Youth and Family Center, and many more.

Contributions can directly impact students, providing paid internships, community-based learning, and design-build opportunities. Students engage through ITECK seasonal gatherings, field site visits and restoration work - including Oak Savanna tending, Salmon Celebrations, professional conferences and workshops. Check out our Recently in ITECK Newsletter.

We offer a supportive network of faculty, staff, alumni and community who continuously work to cultivate a sense of belonging for all our students while they pursue their educational goals and build their careers. We are leading our campus to a better future by building relationships with the land and each other.

“The ITECK community has provided a safe place for me to tell my own story, define my own values, and learn to recognize my needs. My ITECK classes have guided me in reclaiming my identity, while providing community shared spaces where I can practice and witness those who are on a similar journey. Here, I continue to gain skills that strengthen my relationship with the people (human and non-human) of this place. ITECK has helped me to understand my value and connection to all that is around me, facilitating my capacity to heal and grow as a student of this life.” - ITECK Student

All gifts make a meaningful impact. Thank you for helping us empower the next generation of ITECK Leadership.
