The Geology Program at PSU trains Geologists and Earth Scientists to work in Portland, the Pacific Northwest, and beyond. Our classroom is in the city, but curriculum and research extend from the coast, across an active volcanic mountain range, to the high desert. We pride ourselves in being a research university that is committed to supporting the most diverse student body in Oregon.
Your donation will help support field experiences for Geology and Earth Science majors. Specifically, we aim to subsidize the cost to attend field camp (capstone experience) and pair undergraduates with graduate students for hands-on field research experiences. These are opportunities for students to gain skills that are highly attractive to employers and graduate schools. PSU will be offering field camp and field research experiences in Summer 2026. Your donation to the Geology Program can subsidize the costs to attend, both in terms of tuition and field expenses.
With your generosity and support, in 2025 we were able to nearly meet our goal of $6,000 by raising a total of $5,870 from 46 individual donors. This was among the most funds raised by a unit within the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences - help keep the momentum going to raise even more this year!
