Services for Students With Children (SSWC) brings together students, staff, and essential services to support student parents and caregivers at Portland State University (PSU). We foster a sense of community, advocate alongside students, and provide tangible resources at the Resource Center for Students with Children that help them balance their roles as students and caretakers.
At PSU, 20% of students are parents or guardians. Student parents encounter significant challenges in meeting their essential needs, such as food, housing, and childcare. These obstacles can seriously impact their well-being and hinder their ability to complete their degree for graduation. Our hardship fund supports our mission to address these needs by providing financial assistance to cover the costs of food and other basic necessities.
You can help us make a difference! What your donation can provide:
$10 can help a student purchase a meal.
$30 can help cover the cost of gas.
$50 can help purchase infant formula.
$100 can help cover the cost of groceries for a student and their family.
