The James Nattinger Scholarship Fund was established in honor of Professor James Nattinger to provide scholarship support for outstanding graduate students in the Department of Applied Linguistics.
James R. Nattinger was a Professor of Applied Linguistics and the first Chair when the department was established in 1988. A much admired and much respected teacher, Professor Nattinger died of AIDS in 1995. This fund is established to honor him and to support graduate students in a discipline he represented so well.
