The Geology Department at PSU trains the Geologists and Earth Scientists that work in Portland, the Pacific Northwest, and beyond. Our classroom is in the city, but curriculum and research extend from the coast, across an active volcanic mountain range, to the high desert. We pride ourselves in being a research university that is committed to supporting the most diverse student body in Oregon.
Your donation can help subsidize the cost to attend field camp (capstone experience)! This is an opportunity that many Geology majors across the country participate in and is a highly attractive career experience to share with employers and graduate schools. After a long hiatus, PSU will be offering field camp in Summer 2025. Your donation to the Geology Department will subsidize the costs to attend, both in terms of tuition and field expenses.
With your generosity and support last year, we were able to exceed our goal of $4,000 and raise a total of $5,260 from 33 individual donors. This was among the most fundraised for a department within the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences - help keep the momentum going to raise even more this year!
